Masterpiece Program
Prescott Art Docents involve children in a discussion of selected reproductions of masterpieces each month. These talks may include techniques the artist used to communicate with the viewer, social and historical background information, and interesting facts about the artist.
A masterpiece reproduction is left in the classroom to be enjoyed and then exchanged the next month for another masterpiece.
Each school year, approximately 50 classrooms are visited monthly from October to May by Masterpiece Docents. At this time, the Masterpiece Program is provided to the elementary schools in the Prescott Unified School District.

Youth Speakers Bureau
Youth Speakers Bureau Docents prepare slide or digital presentations on themes related to school curriculum and grade level interest. These well-researched talks, based on the Arizona Visual Arts Standards, give children many ways to view and talk about art.
Sometimes the docent will bring appropriate objects to illustrate the art on the screen. Click Here for a list of current talks.
Visits to classrooms are initiated by teachers’ requests. The YSB Docents may give the same presentations to elementary schools in the Prescott, Humboldt and Chino Valley School Districts.
