Gallery Hosts: Our docents may choose to host the PFAA Art Gallery on a rotating basis.  It is a fun way to meet the public, promote and sell an artist’s work, and provide an important service. This helps to keep our rent for the PFAA facilities lower.

Presentation Preview: Reviews and approves all Youth and Adult Speakers Bureau, Training Lectures and trainee talks, including established talks given by new presenters, before public presentations.

Continuing Education Workshops: The docents who choose this service avenue plan and coordinate a yearly workshop for the members to inspire, light a fire, and encourage them to try new ideas and opportunities.  Usually special speakers are invited, smaller group activities are provided and a luncheon is served.

In-House Communication: Provides the necessary telephone communication with the membership at the President’s direction.  Members without email are personally called by this committee.

Members-At-Large: Serve on the Governing Board as Ombudsman for the general membership.

Membership: Maintains roster and service hour records, which are sent each year to the Phoenix Art Museum.  This committee files mail for members, keeps records and assists new graduates.

Hospitality: Makes sure that Monday morning coffee and refreshments are provided, arranges social functions, and hosts sign ups for events.

PRESCOTT ART DOCENTS offer many ways to serve our schools and communities.

Some of the inside opportunities include leadership and committee work which provide the backbone for all our other programs.

These are some of the INSIDE groups of our organization which keep things running like a finely tuned machine.  Committees usually meet only twice a year and plan all the activities and functions of members for the year.  The meetings are always pleasant (with snacks provided) and last no more than two hours on average.

Besides serving in the classroom as art docents, our docents have all the opportunities above and more to vary their participation each year and always make the choice as to what extent they want to serve.  It makes for a lively and dynamic organization.

Field Trips: Arranges for local and out-of-town art focused trips and is responsible for planning, scheduling and sign ups.

Monday Speakers Program: Includes developing a yearly calendar of speakers, corresponding with and introducing speakers, and arranging for docent to accompany speakers to lunch.

Monday Morning Set-Up: Prepares the auditorium for scheduled meetings with digital equipment, slide projectors, easels or whatever is needed.

Resources: Maintain all the library books, slide collections and production of slides, the equipment and files in the PAD Resource Room at PUSD through various committees and chairs.  In addition there is a Curator of the Masterpiece reproduction files, which number almost 800.

Training Team: Responsible for orientation and agenda of training docents, schedules training sessions, coordinates the work of lecturers and advisors, and prepares training materials.

Board Members: Number eighteen and include the Coordinators of Committee Chairs and the Officers, listed on the HISTORY page.  After the year of training and serving an additional year in PAD, a member may be tapped by the President to be on the Board.
