Thoughts from a Prescott Art Docent Volunteer

When I was asked to become a Prescott Art Docent, my response was, "I don't know anything about art."  However, I do love to communicate with children; and Docents said they had an art history training program.  At that time, I didn't know a Picasso from a Pissarro, couldn't pronounce one and couldn't spell the other.  Today I have a good, basic knowledge of art history and art elements.  I can talk intelligently with anybody about art.  Best of all, when I go into the classroom and talk with the children about art, my enthusiasm grows and I can see in their eyes that the enthusiasm is contagious. — Carolyn
