Prescott Art Docents (PAD) maintains connections with the community through our liaisons to various groups.
We have a Community Outreach Coordinator
who oversees and directs the liaisons.
Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council (PAAHC) Liaison represents PAD at PAAHC monthly meetings and sends timely written reports to the Community Outreach Coordinator and the PAD President.
Docent Community Coalition Liaison represents PAD in this coalition of all
docents in the Prescott area, including those of the Phippen, Smoki, and Sharlot
Hall museums. This organization plans projects to benefit the schools and
community and to promote cooperation among the docent groups.
One of the
projects was the Passport Program, which encouraged students to visit all 5
museum environments in Prescott, the museums listed above plus the Highlands
Nature Center and the Zoo. Students carried a passport, had it stamped at each
museum, and went back to collect a small gift at each museum when all pages were
stamped.

Tri-City Mayor’s Breakfast Steering Committee Liaison attends these meetings
planned by the mayor, represents our art organization, and reports back to PAD.
Prescott Chamber of Commerce Liaison attends Chamber monthly socials and other
functions of interest to an art focus, and informs the Community Outreach
Coordinator and the PAD President.
Yavapai County Art for Teens (YCAT) Liaison was formerly the Juvenile Justice
Liaison. YCAT Docents are currently collaborating with the Yavapai County
Juvenile Detention Center in Prescott, Yavapai County High School in Prescott
Valley, and the Yavapai County Big Brothers / Big Sisters Program.
YCAT Docents
provide a hands-on art experience to certain at-risk youth groups to help them
discover creative ways of expressing themselves. The emphasis is on
understanding and appreciating different ways of seeing.
